New Online Membership Directory (2014-2015)

We are your neighbors, and depend on our reputations in the community. Not only will we provide you with the best solutions for your landscaping projects, we also pitch in whenever there's a community need that can utilize our services. We also sponsor a Scholarship Program that helps deserving students pursue a career in our industry.

In order to help our members maintain the highest level of current knowledge and professionalism, we hold monthly dinner meetings with educational speakers; sponsor a special three-day "Short Course" the first of each year, providing our members with up-to-date horticultural information on both basic and technical subjects; and sponsor a Certification Study Program to help our members prepare for the Virginia Certified Professional exams.

The CVNLA supports funding of horticultural research and provides information to home owners at events such as the Maymont Flower & Garden Show, (where our exhibits have won ribbons for its quality and educational message!) the Virginia State Fair, the Virginia Green Industry Council's Virginia Garden Festival, and Earth Day.

Remember that a "bargain" tree that turns brown two months after planting isn't a bargain, no matter how little it cost! So when it's time for that creative solution for your home or business landscape - that maximizes your landscape dollars - refer to our Member Business Directory to locate a professional that will help you develop a personal and unique solution …one that is designed for your lifestyle, your budget, and your light and soil conditions.

CVNLA Activities and Donations

  2. Additionally, money is donated each year to the Horticulture Department at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College.
  3. There is money donated to Maymont each year toward funding for an intern entitled the "Peggy Singlemann Internship."
  4. Money is also donated to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden each year toward their internship program.
  5. This past year CVNLA was able to make a donation to the Bonnie Appleton Memorial Fund of the TREE Fund Endowment.

These donations are made possible by the generous sponsors of our Winter Symposium/Short Course each year that help defray expenses for the event.  Also, thanks to LGBG for the use of their facility that is enjoyed by our attendees.
